Freshman Co-Professor - Barb Tincher

Sierra Gold Chorus

Barb Tincher discovered Sweet Adelines as a child when she saw a chorus on television. Trouble was, it took her until 1979 to find a local chorus. She found the Prospective Sugarloaf Chapter in Region 1 and her whole life changed. She transferred to the West Coast in 1981. Since then, she has sung with Diablo Vista Chorus, Sacramento Valley Chorus, and Voice of the Valley Chorus. She directed Cycle City Chorus in Davis for 8 years. She is currently directing Sierra Gold Chorus in Auburn. Besides the chorus level activities, Barb has served the region as Director of Musical Activities as well as Chorus Coordinator. She also sang bass in the quartet, Plum Dandy in 93-94. In her other life, Barb is a Programmer Analyst with Delta Dental of California. She and Steven have been married for 24 years. They have an elderly cat.

She is a Certified Director, Regional Faculty member, teaching classes on rehearsal planning, and the former Director's Certification Program Coordinator for Region 12. She has participated in quartets for ten years and currently sings Lead with a comedy quartet, This Side Up. Cyndi works in "real life" as an Interpreter for the Deaf for the Mt. Diablo School District, while juggling a busy family with a husband, two teenagers and a Miniture Schauzer. She is honored to be part of this exciting program and eager to share new communication skills with the Sophomore class.
