The Region12 Nominating Committee is seeking women who are interested in serving our Region on the Regional Management Team for a two-year term starting May 1, 2009. The eight-person Management Team is responsible for managing all the affairs of our region. Applications are due on or before September 15, 2008.
Why You Might Want to be on the Regional Management Team

You will have an opportunity to work with other “big picture” women who are creatively charting the immediate and long-range future for Region 12.

You will feel a sense of accomplishment and receive regional recognition for the work you do.

You will receive monetary support according to the current Allowances Table for RMT meetings and for regional events other than Regional Convention.

If an RMT meeting is held during Regional Convention weekend, lodging will be paid equivalent to one-half the room charge at double occupancy rate for one night, and one per-diem will be paid.

You will be funded for all necessary expenses to attend IES.

General Qualifications for All Regional Management Team Positions
It is recommended that as a candidate for the Regional Management Team you should have some past regional service or equivalent related experience. Service on a chorus management team or board of directors is recommended, but not required. You need to have planning, organizing, delegating, and communications skills, and the ability to work proactively. You should be a team player who has good listening skills and a positive approach to problem solving. In addition, you should be a regular user of electronic mail.

Finance Coordinator
The Finance Coordinator, appointed by the Regional Management Team, is primarily responsible for administering and monitoring the region’s financial resources. With the input of the team, she creates and monitors the yearly budget, using Quicken software to track income and expenses. She issues checks as requested, prepares and distributes quarterly financial statements, balance sheet, profit & loss statements, budget versus actual reports and itemized categories to RMT members for meetings, mailings, etc. She assists the Team in developing long-range financial goals. (A new Finance Coordinator will be appointed to replace Tina Akins for the term ending April 07. At that time the position will again be open.)

Team Coordinator
The Team Coordinator, elected by the members of our region, coordinates the management team meeting agenda and facilitates the meetings. She is responsible for monitoring implementation of the region's long-range plan and for maintaining the regional calendar. The TC also reviews regional and chapter standing rules, recommending revisions when needed.

Directors Coordinator
The Directors' Coordinator, elected by active chorus directors of our region, communicates with chorus directors to assess their needs, and then communicates those needs to the Regional Management Team. She provides and facilitates a forum for directors and is responsible for communicating chapter issues to chorus directors. The DC also auditions chapters and prospective chapters, coordinates the Director Certification program, the LAW (Learn Arm Waving) School, and the Assistant Director Forum.

Communications Technology Coordinator
The Communications Technology Coordinator, appointed by International, acts as a liaison for communications with the International organization. She chairs the regional nominating committee, maintains a database of regional talent and serves as Management Team Secretary. She oversees the production of regional publications, including printing and distribution (both physically and electronically). The CTC is responsible for the regional directory, the regional newsletter (Stroke of 12) and the Region 12 web page.
